Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American dancer, actress and performer since the beginning of the 1990s. Her initial performances on Broadway include the productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You She was the recipient of the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in a Play. Annaleigh Ashford, a Tony Award-winning actor as well as director, has spent the bulk of her career working with prominent directors and actors on stage and screen. Ashford's next project will be a limited-edition Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show premieres on November 22, and Ashford stars opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford currently works on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. The film will be released as an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford will be seen alongside Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the March 2023 production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The group behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail is at the control of the show. Ashford was last seen in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the National Crisis, which saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp at the center of the nation's first impeachment proceedings in Over an Century. She was also the lead in two seasons on CBS Comedy B Positive. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway has won two Tony Drama Desk Awards as along with Outer Critics Circle Awards in her role as Essie. Additional Broadway credits for Ashford includes Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren In Kinky Boots. For this performance, she was awarded an Tony Award nomination. Her birthplace and childhood was in Denver Ashford is now dividing her days between Los Angeles and New York.
